Event Photography in Denver, Colorado
Behind-the-Scenes Photography of the Pax8 Beyond Live Stream
For the second year in the row, Truce Studios provided me the opportunity to capture behind-the-scenes photographs during a keynote livestream video recording at Pax8 Beyond, held at the Gaylord Rockies in Aurora, Colorado. These photos were geared towards highlighting all of the work that happens just out of frame, including the energy of the production team to the quiet focus of the speakers preparing to go live. Events like this showcase the power of storytelling not just on stage, but in the spaces around it.
Theatrical Premiere of “Compatible”
The premiere of Director Gino Alfonso’s first feature film, “Compatible”, turned the Denver SIE FilmCenter into a celebration of horror cinema—and I was behind the lens to photograph the stars, the spectacle, and the screams. The film follows Emily Taggert, played by Bergen Reese, as her experience with an interactive dating app takes a terrifying turn. This event featured horror icons like Ari Lehman (Friday the 13th) and Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist), drawing a crowd of genre fans and other members of the film industry.
My coverage included behind-the-scenes moments with cast and crew, audience reactions, and a variety of portraits. The goal was to capture not just who was there—but the energy, anticipation, and eerie excitement surrounding this indie horror debut.
BridgeHumans “Endings and Beginnings” Party
The “Endings & Beginnings Party” produced by BridgeHumans, is an event all about fostering personal growth and reigniting human connection. Set at the welcoming Petals & Pages bookstore in the Santa Fe Arts District, attendees were placed into breakout sessions with fellow community members and given prompts that encouraged them to collectively reflect on their pasts, embrace their present, and dream about their futures.
Theatrical Premiere of “The Flamingo Effect”
As part of Truce Studios’ ambitious “Movie of the Week” program, The Flamingo Effect was shot in just a little over seven days! The result? A packed house at the Denver SIE FilmCenter full of thrilled audience members and a spotlight on director Julie Jackson in her narrative feature film debut.
I had the pleasure of contributing behind the scenes as a grip, gaffer, camera assistant, and script consultant, but this page highlights my work documenting the premiere event itself. From red carpet moments to the post-film Q&A, my photography aimed to capture the energy, excitement, and celebration of independent film done fast and fearlessly.
Behind-the-scenes Photography of “The Flamingo Effect”
Photography captured while working on the set of “The Flamingo Effect”, Truce Media’s first “Movie of the Week” challenge in which members of the Denver based filmmaker collective come together once a year in an attempt to shoot a feature film within the span on a single week. The first iteration of this exciting new program was directed by Academy Award Winning documentary filmmaker, and PBS Veteran, Julie Jackson.
